3 Real Relationships You Can Turn Into Links

One of the most effective link building strategies is turning your real life relationships into links. Here are three ideas you can leverage today:

Turning Vendors Into Linkers: The Old Testimonial Trick
Testimonials are a great example of a relationship-based link building tactic – it allows you to identify a product or service provider you're happy with, it offers the vendor social proof and marketing collateral, and you get a few deep links in return.

Thought Leaders Are People Too (And they link!)
One of the key ways we built relationships (and eventually links) here at WordStream was by telling people when we liked their posts, tools, and ideas.  The reality is people who blog are looking for feedback and want to connect with people who share (or can constructively challenge) their world views.

Interact With Your Community
Finding the people who care and talk about your subject matter and then interacting with them is a powerful link building strategy.  Community participation leads to links because contributors tend to get links back to their blogs or Twitter profiles.
